Saint-Clar is a pretty village in an area called the Lomagne.
It is one of an extremely small number of bastide towns with two arcaded squares.
Just a few moments away, the “castet bielh” part of the village is home to the Old Church
with its 12th-century bell tower, and to half-timbered houses.
The village has about 1000 inhabitants and so you will find the services
and businesses you may need,
including a bank, doctors’ surgeries, bakers, chemists, newsagent,
post office and even the School Museum.
In summer there are numerous events including concerts in the Old Church
and the traditional meals in the streets and square.
Just 3km away, you will find a leisure centre hidden on the hillsides:
a truly picturesque location with its lake; sandy beach, slides and pedaloes.
There are waymarked paths for walking and hiking,
and even an airstrip where you can learn to fly a microlite !
