In Saint-Clar, the quality of life as it used to be still counts. Hand-woven clusters of plump garlic from the Saint-Clar market are commonplace in kitchens throughout France. Farmers and wholesale brokers conclude their business deals over a glass of wine in the shadow of the 12th century church bell-tower and the half-timbered houses nearby.
Despite it's modest population of just over a thousand inhabitants, the village offers all major services and shops : doctors, drugstores, bakers, newsagents, groceries and a post office. |
